Employment Opportunities and New Horizons

From preproduction, to production, and into postproduction, high definition has many opportunities and they are rapidly growing. It is interesting to note that many of the skills required for high definition production are the same ones that were needed for standard definition. Of course, there are added issues in the high def world that require new information and experience, like knowing about camera operation at 24 frames per second versus 23.98 frames per second, or being aware of the framing and compositing issues depending on whether the HD program is going to be down-converted or viewed in standard definition.
