Tech IPOs
The first thing that usually pops into people’s minds when they think of initial public offerings (IPOs) is high-tech companies. Some of history’s best stock gains have come from companies like Apple, Microsoft, Oracle, Google, and Cisco. There are cases in which regular investors have made hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars from such stocks.
Of course, tech IPOs can be risky. Consider that many of the dot-com offerings wound up falling to zero. And going forward, there will certainly be other bubbles. It’s the nature of the tech industry.
