20Date Night
“Will people think we're weird?” asked Melissa across the restaurant table.
“Weird we're eating at an Indian restaurant?” asked Sam.
“No silly. Weird because we're going on another cruise. Are we ‘cruisers' now?”
“Cruisers?” asked Sam.
“Yes,” said Melissa. “Remember those couples we met who take cruises every year? This will be our second one in six months.”
“If that's the definition, I guess we are,” smiled Sam. “Didn't you have fun last time?”
“Sure! I hope we aren't taking the easy way out, not figuring out something else to do.”
“Nah,” said Sam. “It's a different boat and theme. I'm looking forward to seeing new islands too. I enjoyed all the cool stuff we did last time.”
“You're right,” said Melissa. “I'm already getting uptight about getting hit with work while we're on the boat. I need to get better at letting work go.”
“I wish I had secret for that. But work follows me too. Just not like you.”
“Not since you met your little ‘culture coach,'” sneered Melissa.
“Wow,” chuckled Sam. “Sounds like someone's jealous. Brian's helped me out and I enjoy his company. He's the teacher I always wish I had.”
“I know,” smiled Melissa. “I'm happy you're finally having a ‘bromance.'”
“Bromance? He's too old for me, and he calls it ‘mentor-tainment.'”
“Ooh,” said Melissa. “I like that. Seriously, I'm glad you're helping each other.”
“He's helping me way more than I'm helping him.”
“Don't be too sure,” said Melissa. “From what you've told me, he probably gets lonely.”
