Ensuring Fit for Senior Leadership Roles
The core elements of fit apply to all positions, including senior leadership roles. Senior leaders require a demanding combination of hard skills, such as prior leadership experience; knowledge of the legal obligations of a business; experience in the implementation of a strategic plan; and role-specific experience in such functional areas as sales, finance, or operations. They also require a broad range of soft skills—some of them quite sophisticated—that contribute to effective leadership.
