Introduction

The concluding chapter of the book has a dual purpose. First, it will summarize—very briefly—the main findings of all the preceding chapters, highlighting in particular the modifications and additions that were made to the earlier article (Kipping and Üsdiken 2014). This summary of the main thrusts of the book will provide the backdrop for the second, more forward looking and in many ways more important part of this conclusion: a purposeful glimpse into what may be next for both “history of management” and “history in management”—purposeful in the sense that it will not only outline broad avenues for future work but, drawing on recent exemplary research, also make specific suggestions for ...
