Chapter 4. Project 1, Installing HALbasic Software on Your PC
After you have your copy of HALbasic software, the first step is to load the software onto your Windows-based home automation computer. The home automation control platform computer ideally would be one you intend to leave on 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Consider using a computer specifically dedicated for this purpose, because having a dedicated computer will eliminate the potential performance problems of user sharing and will minimize the potential for lockups or inadvertent reboots.
