Chapter 14. Controlling Your Home with iOS and Android
In the preceding chapter we touched on using HAL’s HomeNet features to enable control of features in HAL and devices in your home from over the Internet. When you are remotely connecting to your HAL HomeNet server from over the Internet, a web browser on a computer is all that is needed to connect to HAL HomeNet. In this chapter the text explains how to connect to and control HAL from your home network or over the Internet with its built-in HALids (Interactive Device Server). The Interactive Device Server is a feature designed to interface with your Apple or Android smart phone or tablet.
