Appendix 2Chronology of Hoshin Kanri

The development of hoshin kanri is summarized in Appendix Tables 2-1 and 2-2. Appendix Table 2-1 covers the period from 1950 to 1969, when both hoshin kanri and quality control were developed. Appendix Table 2-2 covers the period between 1970 and 1988, during which time hoshin kanri spread rapidly and matured. For this reason, Appendix Table 2-2 focuses on the development of hoshin kanri alone.
