As we have learned from the previous chapters, the progress of Moore’s law in the U.S. semiconductor industry has been driven by supply-side economic policies. As a result of focusing only on the supply of silicon and no focus on the growth in the real economic demand, the progress of Moore’s law has been made possible by growth of consumer debt and national debt.
