Choosing the Right Company

I can’t think of a time in my career when I needed to muster every single one of my skills more than when I was deciding whether to accept a job offer. Yet, if you’re like me, you too have accepted a position based on the financial package and job title alone. I have done this without bothering to conduct much due diligence on the company—including its financial stability. How crazy is that? After all, what good is a great job or a fancy title if the company is not sustainable for any length of time? Those of you who have experienced what I went through know that it’s not something you’d like to repeat. If there is any consolation at all, it would be that you learned a lesson you’ll never forget.

Choosing a network marketing company is not unlike choosing a new job. Therefore, the goal of this chapter is to cover some reasonably easy checks and balances as part of a due diligence process you should complete before you throw your heart and soul into a new business venture.

The first step in this process is to check out the owners and others who are running the business. In today’s world of accessible information it’s fairly easy to type one or more names into a search engine and see what pops up.
