CHAPTER 1
The brilliant 2019 film Yesterday asks a provocative question: What would happen in a world in which the Beatles had never existed, but in which one person, by some kind of magic, knows all their songs and delivers them afresh to that world?
The hero of the film is a mediocre singer-songwriter named Jack Malik, who has failed to attract an audience, and who is giving up on his musical career. One night, there is a blackout all over the globe. When the lights go out, Malik ends up in a car accident.
