Getting into perspective
A woman leaves her house to go to work: her son is playing football, while the gardener mows the grass. The top picture looks realistic; the lower one looks somehow wrong. Why do we feel that she’s floating, when we can’t see her feet? Why does the gardener look like a midget? What makes the boy look overgrown? Perspective has all the answers.
PERSPECTIVE IS PROBABLY one of the most puzzling aspects of photomontage work. it’s certainly the aspect of the job that seems to perplex users the most: the intricacies of how it works and how it’s applied can seem like a mass of confusing jargon.
