Chapter 5

Mapping your team

In the previous chapter we looked at the individual team members and how their different styles and preferences come together to build an effective team. This chapter considers the design and structure of your team. Teams are becoming more and more complex, often working at a distance, across time zones and cultures. In addition teams are having to learn to be more agile. They are often bought together for a specific purpose and have to develop quickly in order to deliver results.

This chapter will help you:

  • to understand the type of team you are working in
  • to identify the factors which will help you to become a high-performing team
  • to accelerate the development and performance of your team.
