Okay, so what's a good survey objective? A good objective for an employee opinion survey is one that is based on a specific reason for the survey, including the purposes for the information. In most cases, the earlier example of an overall survey objective probably describes the primary goal:

To discover employee perceptions regarding their satisfaction with the conditions of employment.

If you are planning a survey for a limited reason, such as just to discover opinions regarding compensation, the overall objective can be modified:

To discover employee perceptions regarding their satisfaction with the company's compensation program.
