Response Alternatives
Earlier in this book several basic question types were described: objective, multiple choice, ranking, essay, and fill-in. Responses to the first three types can be recorded in a similar fashion. The alternative answers for each question can be provided, and the participant just needs to indicate the one selected. Essay and fill-in questions are a different matter and will be dealt with later.
Objective questions generally require two possible responses: yes and no. However, don't know or not applicable is sometimes provided as a third possible response.
