As the name implies, these questionnaires aim to gain an insight into your personality. I do not like the use of the word ‘test’ when related to personality evaluations. ‘Test’ implies ‘right or wrong’, and in personality evaluations there are no right and wrong answers – we are all different.
Usually no time limit is set for completing a personality questionnaire, but you are advised not to over-analyse your replies and to move quickly from question to question. Don’t answer questions as you think you should. Be honest with yourself, otherwise you’re defeating the object. Also, some personality questionnaires have an in-built evaluation that checks to see how consistent (honest) your answers have been.
