I've been driving for well over 30 years. I would hate to contemplate how many miles I've covered in that time, but I'm sure I could have comfortably driven to the moon and back. And whilst I enjoy driving most of the time, I have to confess it can be an entirely different experience when I'm a passenger.
On a recent trip abroad, it did cross my mind that I might be making an earlier departure from this planet than I'd intended. I was travelling in a taxi where it seemed the driver either had a death wish or a desperate need for the toilet. On several occasions I found my leg thrusting down hard on the non-existent brake pedal beneath me.
It's fair to say my stress levels soared.
