Though organisation and preparation aren’t exactly as fun as dropping a monster record or crowd-surfing, no DJ would be able to survive without them. Ten years in, I still have nightmares about turning up at a show underprepared. In clubs, you need to make sure you have all the music you need, and you need it organised so that you are flexible enough to capitalise on every idea and situation that pops up.
