Whatever time orientation you have, whether past, present or future, you still need a reason to do things. It is not just children who ask ‘why’ when told to do something, adults do it too; we just do it differently. Sometimes, the ‘why’ stays in our head and sabotages our progress. The two things that will motivate you to get on and do something are wanting to do it and understanding why it is necessary or important.
