Time and time again, people tell me one of their biggest fears of public speaking or doing presentations is being asked a question they cannot answer.
What do we do about difficult questions?
Now, there's a few things on this. The first thing is – and this helps with timekeeping – in most presentations we don't want the audience shouting out random questions. It's usually better to say to people:
‘I'm happy to take questions at the end, unless anything is stopping you learning or understanding, so what we're going to do is hold all questions to the end of the presentation and have a Q and A session then.’
