CHAPTER 5Script your presentation

In 2006, after much research and development, I developed a model that helps you move from your series of one-word points on your storyboard to a fully developed, detailed and scripted presentation that will shift your audience from their current to your desired state. I call it the Persuasion Blueprint.

My Persuasion Blueprint combines all of the key elements of a persuasive presentation, and helps you know exactly when to say the things you want to say — and say them with precision, accuracy and linguistic mastery. Specifically, my Persuasion Blueprint will help you achieve the following:

  • build deep rapport with your audience
  • stimulate your audience to listen actively
  • manage audience conflict or objections
  • influence your audience to think, feel and do what you have planned
  • ensure that you answer the questions audience members are asking (both unspoken and spoken), regardless of their personality
  • feel confident that you have prepared thoroughly and can deliver expertly for any audience.

  • Step 1: Build rapport with your audience.
  • Step 2: Assert your perspective using a leading statement.
  • Step 3: Motivate your audience to pay attention.
  • Step 4: Proactively manage audience objections.
  • Step 5: Control and relax your audience.
  • Step 6: Deliver the facts, figures and data.
  • Step 7: Explain the steps for implementing your ideas.
  • Step 8: Provide any other information. ...
