13 Managing Quality
One of your goals as a PM is to build quality into work products, rather than trying to add quality to work products near the end of the project. The essence of this approach is to plan in quality from the beginning of the project. Surface any problems early and correct them as soon as possible, maintain your plan, and minimize rework. This chapter provides a road map for building quality into your project’s work products. This approach reduces cost and improves schedule adherence, which satisfies users and customers and helps your team meet all stakeholders’ criteria for project success (as described in Figure 1-2).
