What Is a Problem?

Many different kinds of things are called problems. For this engagement, we are considering challenges that invite you to demonstrate and apply knowledge in an academic discipline. The focus here is intellectual problem-solving, be it for real-world applications or for classroom assessments of learning. We consider problems in science and mathematics primarily, but the key principles are applicable to other disciplines as well.
