I was working on a large multinational conference with the top 200 executives of a company at a two-day offsite in Prague with big staged presentations and breakout sessions; a well organised, heavy bonding and career shaping experience. It was the sort of thing where a marketing director’s half-hour presentation with videos, slides, music and flashing lights needs to be a tour de force. In short it needs to be creative.
But here was a sudden catch. A very accomplished presenter of a CEO announced the day before: ‘No scripts and no lectern. Walk about, be natural, engage the audience.’
