Appearance and Dress Code

My German business mentor back in the late 1970s was upset with my choice of car—a Buick Opel made in Europe. In no uncertain terms, he let me know my next car better be American made. It was all about appearances when I would travel to customers and vendors. (To this day, I have never owned a Ford, GM, or Chrysler vehicle. On the other hand, I have never had any of them or any large Tier-1 auto supplier as a client.)
