Traveling Across Realities
XR, also known as extended or cross reality, is a concept that includes Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) among other similar technologies. In this chapter, we will cover different definitions so that even if you are new to XR technologies, you can get a good understanding of how everything is connected and what could potentially go wrong, providing you with the knowledge to test your XR projects. Even if you are currently not working on an XR project, as computers’ components become more powerful, and new tools and algorithms come out that enable easier-to-build and better-performing XR applications, the importance of knowing these types of applications and how to test them also increases.
