Chapter 15. Smart Plug-Ins

Smart Plug-Ins (SPIs) are software solutions that integrate out-of-the-box components into the OpenView platform. The components provide instant-on management of application and device availability within the domain. SPIs provide pre-configured templates, message groups, application groups, node groups and instrumentation for different enterprise environments. The advantage is that you spend less time with detailed configuration activities, such as creating templates from scratch. Instead, you can take a pre-defined template and customize it for your need.
