Appendix C. Dynamically Tuneable Parameters

This appendix contains an alphabetized listing of those tuneable parameters that are automatically tuned by the kernal or dynamically tuneable by the system administrator while the kernel is running.

Use the following commands to change the value of a dynamically tuneable parameter:

  • kmtune with HP-UX 11i v 1, 1.5, and 1.6

  • kctune with HP-UX 11i v 2.0 and later

When tuning a parameter dynamically, it is important to recall that the change is effective only in the running kernel. If the system were to reboot, the change would be lost. Therefore, it is important to reconfigure the on-disk kernel file (/stand/vmunix) if you want the tuneable parameter changes to be permanent and applicable whenever the system ...
