Maintenance planning involves establishing testing procedures and becoming familiar with test equipment used during maintenance and troubleshooting.

Testing

The final step of an installation is testing the system interfaces and the main controller to ensure that everything works properly. Testing verifies that no faults occurred during the installation of the system. When testing, remember to adhere to the following rules:

  1. Before using test equipment, perform a full and thorough visual inspection of the integrated system.

  2. Identify any faults in the cable runs.

  3. Document the description and location of the device you tested.

  4. Record the tools you used to test the device.
