Using the Fluid 960 grid layout
The 960 Grid System has been around for a while and has already proven useful in deploying new projects quickly. It is fairly simple to learn, and after a quick learning curve you can jump right into using it.
The only snag in this is that it is not responsive. In fact, it behaves much like a table using column, spanned over fixed-width table headers. It lays out nicely in a 960px-wide window, and that's it, you are stuck with a good view in only one browser window size. So why even discuss the 960 grid at all in a module about responsive design? The answer is that some people liked it so much that they decided to fix the problem.
