Adding tags for jQuery Mobile
This recipe jumps deep into a new area of responsive design, that is, mobile-first. Mobile-first, in a nutshell, means that you would first design for a mobile version of the site and then make modifications for the desktop. Now, this does not mean that you are designing a "mobile only" website, only that designing your layouts and styles for mobile comes first.
Mobile-first may require rethinking your designs, or at least designing from a different perspective. But isn't change good? Can't we all improve our design skills by trying out new approaches? Isn't Darwinism merely the survival of those who are best suited to adapt to change?
So let's go ahead with an open mind and try some mobile-first development.
