This chapter starts by discussing why even in a land of Billion people identifying the right talent, training them and retaining them has become an uphill task. This chapter explores the role of human resources in Indian corporate scenario and the role of government in developing human capital. The chapter also identifies some issues plaguing human capital management in India and moves on to discuss about employability. The chapter identifies reasons why identifying right challenge can be challenging by exploring the role of universities, quality of education, societal trends and so on.
