Abstract:

This chapter looks at the human capital management from a practical perspective. It starts with an introduction to the concept of value introducing the concept of value creation and protection and its relevance to human capital management. It then moves to discuss how HR managers can systematically identify and outsource elements that are value protecting and what they should do to retain elements that help HR managers add or create value. It then introduces the role of stress and the concept of toxic behaviours and nourishing behaviours and its impact on performance.
