Management and staffing at a start-up regional airlines company

Introduction

The airline industry in China is a fast-growing market, although, as with many airlines around the world, it does have its own financial, regulatory and staffing problems. This chapter examines some of the problems that are being faced by a new regional airline in central China. Issues such as staffing with suitably qualified pilots, training, budget, and the management and organisational structure are examined, as the airline seeks to become a viable concern in the regional market.
