Staff retention in the hotel industry
Introduction
This chapter examines a company in the hospitality industry, and raises a particular problem existing within that industry in China, and many other parts of the world. This is one of how to attract staff and ensure security of employment for those people, as well as providing them with a suitable salary to retain them in the business. Career paths are also a limiting feature of the hospitality industry, as the opportunity for promotion in the industry, especially in the smaller independent hotels, is extremely limited, compared to the larger hotel chains.
