Where and how to start in your city
Abstract
This chapter describes a methodology to transform an existing city. We suggest a guerrilla approach and course of action starting in a small borough, showing results, capturing hearts and minds, and moving forward. Then it describes the 1-week intensive workshop methodology developed by the author, which has been applied in a few boroughs already, and includes: the definition of participants and stakeholders for the workshop, the materials to be distributed and format of the workshop, the use of the design thinking tool, the deliverables and expectations of participants, the actual results, and the governance of the project on the day after.
