Abstract

Aerogels are a class of microporous materials that are becoming increasingly interesting due to their remarkable features, which include high porosity, low density, high surface area, and variable surface chemistry. For many years, the building and aircraft industries were the primary users of their distinctive thermal and acoustic insulation properties.
