Hybrid Projects: The Need to Be Open to Different Project Management Methodologies

Introduction

I think as project managers (PMs), we often get too wedded to one particular methodology, and we think that this one methodology has to be used in all situations. We become purists for this one approach. Perhaps the methodology is Scrum or Extreme Programming (XP), and we think that this is the modern solution for all projects, and can and should be used on all projects. We think waterfall and traditional approaches are a thing of the past, and only something our fathers once had to use. There are much better ways to do things today!¹
