Managing Requirements

Requirements management is the work of the business analyst, who essentially acts as a link between the customer and the project management team with regard to solution development. As a process, requirements management or managing requirements is well documented and relatively mature (see Figure 11.1). This can be evidenced for example by the numerous tools that exist to support this process. In most cases, these tools focus on software engineering. An example of a popular feature is history tracking based on the notion of “requirements traceability,” often associated with requirements management.
