Virtual switch
The Hyper-V Virtual Switch is a software-based layer-2 network switch that is available in Hyper-V Manager when you add the Hyper-V Server role. This switch allows us to connect virtual machines to both virtual networks and the physical network. In addition, the Hyper-V Virtual Switch provides policy enforcement for security, isolation, and service levels, and can be extended for advanced management purposes such as anti-virus or diagnostic additions.
You can even extend the default Hyper-V Switch with the well-known Cisco Switch Nexus 1000V. If you are already using Cisco Network infrastructure, you should use this extension and manage the Cisco Nexus 1000V with your existing Cisco Management infrastructure.
