Conclusion

The many laws that have been passed to support democratization, good governance, transparency, and accountability are alien to the Malawi population and are not owned by its population and leaders. From colonial government to Dr. Banda’s one-party state, citizens have entrusted administration and development to their leaders without question. They believe their leaders know best what is good for the country. Unfortunately, from colonial times to the one-party administration, the leaders have taken advantage of this and exploited the people and the country.
