User Scaling
In the last chapter we talked about how to scale the data of a Cognos TM1 model. In this chapter we want to cover the methods of user-related scaling. The purpose of scaling users is to prevent performance issues when many users access a Cognos TM1 server at the same time. This concurrency can lead to performance issues if queries take a long time and/or contentions arise when modifying Cognos TM1 objects. You will see that there is a small overlap between Chapter 11 and this chapter. While Chapter 11 deals with the amount of data, this chapter deals with the number of users.
