Management and configuration
This chapter describes enhancements in z/OS that help to simplify storage management so that the system can manage storage automatically and autonomically. Enhancements over the years to today’s z/OS Version 2 have perfected the storage software within z/OS.
This chapter focuses on storage pool designs and specific enhancements that were jointly developed by the z/OS and DS8000 storage system development teams to achieve more synergy between both units.
