10.11. Changing IP addresses using SMIT
If you are moving your machine from one network segment to another, and need to change IP addresses, use smit mktcpip the same way as the first time you configured TCP/IP. You may need to change the host name, IP address, and the default gateway address. A sample screen is shown in Figure 10-18 on page 285.

Do not perform this task in a Telnet session, as you will lose your connection when the change is made.
