22.2. Creating a sample database
In this section, we describe the process of creating a database connection and generating the required Java classes; these classes are similar to the classes used in the sample scenario included in this book.

In 22.3, “Sample scenario” on page 689, a portlet project to access a JDBC database will be imported into the HRPortlet project created in the previous section. In this implementation, the JDBC connection has already been included.
