Chapter 11. Release Packaging and Deployment

This chapter looks at the final parts of the Software Release Management process: Release Packaging and Release Deployment. First, I look at how different types of Release Packages can be created. Then I look at how the Rational Build and Deployment Tracking capability can be used to create a Deployment Unit file and automate the deployment work flow. Finally, I look at different strategies for physically deploying the Release Packages to their runtime environments.
