Project Management is one of the supporting disciplines in the Rational Unified Process. The Rational Unified Process does not cover all the knowledge areas that come within the scope of project management standards, such as the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) by the Project Management Institute. Instead, the Rational Unified Process focuses primarily on the crucial aspects of an iterative development process. These include managing risk, planning an iterative project, and monitoring the progress of an iterative project.
