The Statistics node provides summary statistics for individual fields and correlations between fields. Whereas a scatterplot visually depicts the relationship between two continuous variables, the Pearson correlation coefficient is used to quantify the strength and direction of the relationship between continuous variables. The Pearson correlation coefficient is a measure of the extent to which there is a linear (straight line) relationship between two variables. Assessing correlation coefficients allows researchers to determine both the direction and strength of this relationship.
