4.2.8 IBM 3600 Series LTO tape automation family

The 3600 Series comprises two models designed for attachment to xSeries and Netfinity

servers. The

3600 Series 900GB/1.8TB LTO autoloader is the low-cost entry model. The

3600 Series 2/4TB LTO Library comes as rack or tower version. Both products have an

LVD/SE SCSI connection that supports 80 MB/sec instantaneous data rate. The

900GB/1.8TB Series holds nine LTO cartridges, six in the removable magazine and three

cartridges in the back of the tape unit. The 2/4 TB Series supports 20 cartridges and up to

two LTO tape drives.

The 3600 Series also includes a 20-Cartridge Expander Module, an LTO Drive upgrade

option to install a second drive into the 2/4TB Series, and a Fibre Channel upgrade option.
