Chapter 3. Enabling your community
Access to Web Access, the actions a user can perform, and processing within Web Access
are controlled by privilege classes. The privilege class a user is currently running in
determines the user’s Web Access home page and the authorities the user has to certain
records. Other privilege class records are used for special Web Access processing, including
identifying whether you are authorized to perform Web Administration tasks. You should
evaluate the privilege class records that Web Access provides, understand the privilege class
roles, and determine whether you want to use them. This chapter discusses the Web Access
privilege class records and provides information about how to set up your community to use
them. If you decide that you would prefer to use your own privilege class records or define
your own privilege class roles, or both, refer to Chapter 8, “Using existing privilege class
records” on page 83.
